## What You Get
- **Spot grouped tabs instantly**: A slim, vibrant accent bar links tabs in the same split-screen tile, so you never have to guess which tabs are paired.
- **Colors that stay readable**: Evaluates your active theme background and automatically skips low-contrast colors, keeping indicator bars crisp in both light and dark modes.
- **Hover to reveal links**: Hovering over any tiled tab brightens the accent bars across its entire group, making paired tabs obvious before you click.
- **Focused active view**: The active tab shines at full brightness while background tiled tabs are gently dimmed, keeping your attention where you are working.
- **Adapts to your layout**: Full support whether your tab strip is at the top, bottom, or running vertically along the left or right edge.
- **Zero data collected**: Runs 100% locally in your browser with no analytics, no external servers, and zero network requests.

## Layout support
- **Top & Bottom Tab Strips**: Horizontal accent bars that adapt to your tab strip position and corner rounding settings
- **Left & Right Vertical Tabs**: Inner-edge accent indicators aligned cleanly with vertical tab lists
- **Private Windows**: Automatically softens color brightness and saturation to respect private browsing mode
- **High-Contrast & Light Themes**: Evaluates theme luminance to skip colors that would blend into your background
- **Multi-Tile Grid Layouts**: Works seamlessly whether you tile two tabs side by side, three tabs, or a four-tab grid

## Private & lightweight
- **Architecture**: Lightweight Vivaldi UI mod (CSS + JS)
- **Page Content**: Isolated to browser chrome; never inspects or alters page text
- **Platforms**: Windows, macOS, and Linux
- **Tab Strips**: Top, bottom, and left/right vertical tab strips
- **Contrast**: Theme luminance checks prevent colors from blending into tabs
- **Customization**: Adjust bar thickness via CSS variable (--tile-viz-thickness)

## Why vivaldi-tile-viz Was Built
### The problem
You tile two tabs to compare docs side by side, switch to another tab, and come back. In a busy tab bar, there is no visual cue showing which tabs were tiled together. Finding paired tabs means clicking through them one by one.
### What I built
Standard browser extensions cannot access Vivaldi's tiling state, so I built a native UI mod. It links paired tabs with theme-aware accent colors and real-time hover cues—running completely locally with zero network calls.
### What you get
Every split-screen tile is instantly recognizable in your tab bar. Paired tabs share a clear accent bar that stays readable across every theme and tab strip position.
